Welcome to the Central Coast Quilters 2020 Block of the Month. This year's quilt uses 16-patch blocks (actually four rotating 4-patch blocks) and lots of half-square triangles (HST) while swapping fabrics within blocks. I will hand out nine block patterns. You will make two of each, but you will change the position of colors in the second one to make the blocks look different. There will be a pattern for what I call the "filler" block. The last set of instructions will be for binding with a flange.

The sample and patterns use three colors--teal, brown and beige. But this would look good scrappy, too.

My goal is that by the end of the year you will (1) experience how changing colors will change the look of blocks, (2) will enjoy making HST, and (3) start playing with 16-patches to make your own designs. Your goal should be to have fun along the way.

We will be having a Show and Tell of what you have completed at the December Guild meeting.
